One interesting footnote to the journey Kiki and I made through Switzerland and Austria a few months ago was that we accidentally traversed the micro-nation of Liechtenstein as our train made its way from Chur to Innsbruck.

Liechtenstein didn’t announce its borders (nor were its flags flying in any of the communities we passed through), so we only knew we were there by checking Google Maps.

So can we say we’ve been to Liechtenstein now? I don’t think so (and I’ve never been one to concern myself with “counting” countries), but I’d reckon we can say that we’ve crossed Liechtenstein.
